Exam results can cause lots of stress and anxiety, especially if you don’t do as well as you hoped. This can lead to poor sleep, loss of appetite and seeing only the negatives in life. This can also affect your friendships and family life and it is not healthy for you.
The main thing is to keep a balanced view of what success means and not to put too much importance on your exam results. There are so many other things that are important in your life – family, friends, music, food, travel etc and all of these are more important than getting top grades.
It can be tempting to share your results on social media but it can cause a lot of tension as people compare their results with others. It is best not to open your results in school and try to avoid social media for a day or so.
NYCPS shares test results to help families and educators understand the performance of schools in recent years. This includes data from grade 3-8 state assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and math, New York State Regents exams, SAT, Advanced Placement exams and the National Assessment of Educational Progress. The availability of reports varies by school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have taken USMLE Step 1 or Step 2 CK, you can request that your examination data be made available to international medical schools through ECFMG’s online Request for Release of Evaluation (ROE) system. See the ROE information page for details on how to use this tool.
