Veterans Day is a special time to celebrate the bravery, resilience, and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. But it’s also a day to reach out to them, acknowledging that their service impacts us all.
One way to do that is by honoring a veteran’s memory in a public space with a living tribute like a memorial garden. These gardens provide a place of reflection, remembrance, and sanctuary for years to come. Another way to pay tribute is by supporting veteran-owned businesses. This helps ensure that their leadership and problem-solving skills benefit our communities beyond military service.
Many families of fallen service members display their loved ones’ military keepsakes during funerals and memorial events. These memorabilia include uniforms, medals, pictures, and accolades that capture the various facets of their lives. By displaying these mementos, they create an opportunity for family and friends to share cherished memories with one another.
Verdin has partnered with The Honor Bell Foundation to create a unique and lasting way to honor veterans and their families. Their unique “Bell Foundry on Wheels” enables communities to add military artifacts to 2200-degree molten bronze, which is then cast right in front of the community. These videos show the magic of this process and the impact it has on a community. The bell is then permanently located at the cemetery where the veterans served, and will live and toll as a permanent reminder of their sacrifice. Click to learn more about the program.
