In general, Local Legend status is used to communicate how well a player performs in certain events, such as races and raids. The status is determined by a player’s performance in these events, and it is not associated with any other in-game achievement. The status is not viewable from the website and can only be seen using the mobile apps.
Becoming a local legend requires a deep understanding of the community’s needs, and an authentic commitment to meeting them. Local markets operate differently than national ones – customers have longer memories, stronger relationships, and higher expectations for authenticity. Start by mapping out your local unique value proposition (UVP) – the intersection of what your community needs, what you do exceptionally well, and what your competitors don’t address effectively.
Once you have your legend, craft a repeatable hook or name. This will be what your characters refer to your legend by. A great way to make a legend memorable is by tapping into one of the community’s fears. This can be as simple as a fear of loss or something more complex like a fear of technology. Once you have your fear, decide what your legend is trying to warn the community about and build a story around it. For example, if the legend is about a cursed crystal, build a story that revolves around the myth of the curse and its consequences. Make sure to include all the necessary details to create an engaging and believable story.
